The 365 Day Challenge

My goal is to create something every day using something from my craft cupboard. I am a self-confessed fabric addict and just love to fossick through thrift shops and find treasures.

So here goes. Live, love, recycle and get crafting.

Day 360 - Child's bedroom canvasses

Back from camping but so exhausted and feeling a bit down as I always do after quality family time away. The time away camping was good healing time, did some grieving for my Nan and some reminiscing, started to feel better, then had a down day again today.

Liam had a wonderful birthday yesterday, and I took him to see Chitty chitty bang bang in Melbourne on the way home. He was still on a high this morning.

I can't believe that little man is 8 years old already. The years just fly by. I miss those baby years, although I do love the little man he is now.

Some memories below, and a few snaps of camping and beach fun.

Here are some canvasses with felt, paint, some stitching and a few other bits and pieces. I made them. Only five days to go....Have no idea what I'm making. Can't think past today at the moment.

Day 359 - Needle felted alien birthday card

Mum and I did a needle felting workshop for her birthday a few years ago. I made this cute bear, but haven't done any more needle felting since then.

I decided to do a little mini project of speed needle felting for Liam's birthday. My big boy is 8 today. How time flies. I would like to try a bigger project soon. This was a rushed campsite alien with small children looking over my shoulder. They were impressed!

Day 358 - Shaker toy from a slurpee sipper

Today I made a simple shaker toy for Mr D using a slurpee sipper we got at the kite festival on Sunday.
I put some rice, pasta, gumnuts and wool inside.

Beautiful Kites

Happy little man making some noise.

Day 357 - Crayon rubbings with my vintage 1980's crayons

Beautiful day down at the beach today and a lovely little bit of the morning doing some leaf rubbings with the kids using my old crayons from the 1980's. I loved this box of 64 crayons with their wonderfully exciting names like mahogany and periwinkle. Endless possibilities.

Day 356 - A campsite fence

Mr D is what I call a wanderer. He just spends his days running around exploring every corner of the world he can possibly find. I spend a lot of time looking at the view in the following pictures and running after it. It's a cute view, but it sure can be exhausting. And when there are cars around it can be a little stressful at the campsite. Here's my campsite solution, using some op shopped sheets and tomato stakes and held together with tacks.

Day 355 - Campsite prints from found plants

Doing some painting at the campsite with my Little A and we decided to do some printing with a few bits and pieces we found on the ground. A gumnut, some leaves and some bark. We made these into a flower.

Day 354 - belt for a dress from platted lace

Belt from platted lace to go with a dress. I made this in the wee hours of this morning when I couldn't sleep, and have been at my Nanny's funeral all day.

We are now camping for a few days at the beach. Stay tuned for beach craft and phone blogging.

Exhausted now. Night all. Or it might be morning where you are. Happy Friday!
