The 365 Day Challenge

My goal is to create something every day using something from my craft cupboard. I am a self-confessed fabric addict and just love to fossick through thrift shops and find treasures.

So here goes. Live, love, recycle and get crafting.

Day 315 - Channeling my inner preschooler

Juliet and I were on our 2 hour train ride today playing with scrabble tiles and I decided to make a diamond shaped poem like Liam has done at school.

Here it is.

Juliet did this, which showed how much she had missed being with her family.

Here's how she reacted when seeing her brothers at the train station.

This made me feel like representing my poem in different ways when we arrived home. Using liquid chalk on our glass doors, and channeling my inner preschooler by making a glue and glitter poster. Not great art, but fun nonetheless.

And although I didn't make this last picture, I have to take some credit. I can't believe how crafty Mr Crafty is getting. Him and the boys made these hand print sunflowers while Juliet and I were away as my present for day 21 in my 40 days of gifts. They are awesome and will greet visitors who come to our front door.

  1. Wonderful poem about your child's smile!

Those sunflowers are absolutely fantastic!!! Kudos to Mr. Crafty and the boys, they did a great job...which you already know, lol.

Glad you and Juliet had such a good time. Y'all needed to get away from all those "men" for a spell.

  2. Thankyou, thankyou. I love my sunflowers. Coincidentally, the sunflower seeds I planted in the garden finally started flowering the following day.

I guess we do need some girl time sometimes. I can't imagine what it will be like in 12 years when I have 3 teenage boys. :-) Oh the food bills!

  3. Oh, yeah, seriously!! When my younger son was 16, I couldn't keep him full. He would sit at the supper table and eat at least two helpings of everything, sometimes three, and less than 30 minutes later, he'd have his head in the 'fridge, yelling that he was hungry!!! And meant it, too!! They have hollow legs at that age, I guess.
