The 365 Day Challenge

My goal is to create something every day using something from my craft cupboard. I am a self-confessed fabric addict and just love to fossick through thrift shops and find treasures.

So here goes. Live, love, recycle and get crafting.

Day 256 - Santa Vase from an old tin.

I got this idea from this Maryvelous cakes facebook page and I just thought it was adorable so decided to make one with one of the old formula tins we had in the pantry. Mr D drank formula for a couple of months and the tins seem to good to throw out.

So this Santa was made with a formula tin, an old camera bag strap and some buttons. The flowers grow wild on our block. Ho, ho, ho to you all.

The kids didn't know what it was, but Mr Crafty recognised it right away.

  2. Very pretty, I really like it, and it really fits in with Christmas decorating.

Do y'all get Folgers coffee down there? I buy it in round, red 13 oz. containers that can be used in a manner similar to what you've done with the formula can. One thing that can be done with the round coffee containers of any kind is to cut out pictures from old Chrismas cards and glue them around the can. Folgers cans are perfect for this, as they indent a couple times. The paper label on them comes off very easily. Other coffee containers can be used, just depends on what color you want, or if you want to be bothered with the spray paint.

    Joyce...have a great day, hear?

  3. Thanks Claire. Joyce I do hear ya, loud and clear, accent and all. Never heard of Folgers coffee though, but the tins do sound useful. I did have a great day, thankyou. Hope you did too.
